Aunque el Dispositivo del Año ha sido el iPhone4 de Apple, la taiwanesa HTC Corporation ha sido galardonada con el premio al “Fabricante de dispositivos del año”, por la GSMA en la ceremonia de Global Mobile Awards celebrada en Barcelona. Los otros dos finalistas han sido Apple y Samsung.
Los jueces de GSMA han comentado: “Esta empresa (HTC) ha creado su presencia en el mercado desde cero, con un branding y un marketing frescos y con una sólida cartera de dispositivos que abarca muchas plataformas. En especial, ha demostrado ser un fabricante de teléfonos extraordinariamente populares y resistentes. Si añadimos su buena comunicación y su buen servicio al cliente, este es un premio bien merecido.”
Recientemente, HTC ha obtenido el premio al “Mejor teléfono móvil de 2010” con HTC Hero. Entre sus nuevos modelos destacan smarphones como el Desire.
Los Premios GSMA son decididos por un comité de jueces que comprende a analistas y consultores del sector, a operadores móviles, a formadores y a otros líderes de la industria.
