Varios miembros del equipo Formula Student Bizkaia realizaron una visita al Instituto de Formación Profesional Superior Elorrieta- Erreka Mari.

Por un lado, Markel Alaña y Cristina Gutiérrez fueron en representación del grupo Powertrain. Estos se reunieron con el profesor Alberto Herrera para debatir sobre dos piezas del FSB2015, el cubrecorrea y la tapa motor. Ambos son elementos de seguridad y serán fabricados en aluminio. Dicho instituto  se encargará de realizar estas piezas, las cuáles se doblarán y  en el caso de la tapa motor también se soldarán sus laterales a la chapa central.

Por otro lado, Mikel Martínez, Asier Taboada y Sebastián Rico fueron en representación del grupo Corners y se reunieron con el profesor Mikel Aldasoro. El principal objetivo de  la visita de este grupo era el mecanizado de la mangueta, la cual  es uno de los elementos estáticos de la masa no suspendida encargada  de unir las piezas giratorias (rueda y buje)  con la suspensión del coche. Teniendo en cuenta  los procedimientos que hay que seguir en el mecanizado de la pieza y las limitaciones que tiene este proceso, algunas de las zonas de la mangueta han tenido que ser modificadas y otras en cambio, solo retocadas.

Several members of the Formula Student Bizkaia team visited Elorrieta-Erreka Mari Vocational Institute.

On one hand, Markel Alaña and Cristina Gutiérrez as representatives of Powertrain group met with Professor Alberto Herrera to talk about the belt and engine covers. Both are safety features and will be manufactured in aluminium. This institute will build these parts, which will bend and weld the engine cover´s sides to the centre plate.

On the other hand, Mikel Martínez, Asier Taboada and Sebastian Rico as represetatives of Corners group had a meeting with Professor Mikel Aldasoro. The main purpose of their visit was to talk about the stub axle´s machining, which is one of the most important unsprung static elements. It attaches the rotating parts (tyre and bushing) to the car’s suspension. They have taken into account the machining procedures and the limitations of this process, in the modifications and retouches that have been done in the axle spindle.
